Oecanthus celerinictus This male is actively singing – note the blurred appearance of this wings. This recording was made at 24.5°C. Analysis showed 62 pulses per second. This means this tree cricket’s wings are opening and closing 62 times per second! This is an adult male Fast-calling tree cricket. This is an adult female. Hanging under a leaf is a common spot for tree crickets. Males arch their abdomen upward and females arch their abdomen downward – in order to transfer the spermatophore from the male to the female.
